Ara Moana is a small 8 bungalow family run property set on the cliffs of the raised Makatea (upraised coral / limestone) looking out to the east of the island. This is a small property offering friendly, personal service to all their guests.

A short walk from the property reveals great vistas of the Pacific ocean with the surf breaking against the coral reef some 100 feet below. From this vantage point, you can see schools of parrot fish come over the reef to feed.

Ara Moana is ideal for those wanting to learn about the people and island. Hosts Jan - a Swedish national and his wife Tu, provide a great family atmosphere typical of Mangaia and her people. Jan also speaks German.
